Tailored  Dog Food Reviewed

When it comes to Tailored Pet dog food, there’s quite a bit to talk about, though we couldn’t find much about their recipes online or on the website.

Who makes Tailored dog food, and where is it produced?

Tailored Pet dog food was formed when a group of pet parents got together and decided they were tired of not being able to find the right food choices in stores for their beloved pets. They decided to team up with pet nutrition experts, and Tailored Pets was formed.

Tailored Dog Food is made in facilities in Texas and California. However, the company admits that some of its supplements containing vitamins and minerals are sourced from China.

Which type of dog is Tailored best suited for?

Tailored Pet food is suited for any dog breed because the food is made according to the information you put enter about your pet. Tailored Pets knows that no two dogs are the same, so their nutritional needs and preferences shouldn’t have to be either.

Some of the ingredients include chicken, lamb, bison, salmon, nutrient-rich vegetables and fruits, and legumes that are wholesome, healthy, and rich in fiber.

Tailored produces limited ingredient diets for dogs with allergies or restrictions. The kibble blends are made with seven to 10 ingredients, plus any supplements that are needed as well.

Which type of dog might do better with a different brand?

So far, the company only offers dry kibble, and if your dog prefers wet food, or that is what the vet has recommended for your pet, another option might be best for your pup.

Discussion of the Primary Ingredients (Good and Bad)

Now that we know a little about Tailored Pets, let’s discuss the ingredients in the food a little further below.

Only Offers Dry Kibble

Tailored Pets only offers dry food for dogs. The recipes are formulated and developed by nutritionists and vets to ensure your pet is getting 100% balanced food in their bowls at mealtime.

Only Uses Trusted Suppliers

Tailored Pets says they use duck from France, real lamb from New Zealand, and they get their seafood from Canada. While they say they get some of their ingredients from other countries, they only use proven, trusted suppliers.

Uses Packing Friendly Environments

Tailored Pets thinks it’s just as important to take care of the environment that dogs live in as it is to take care of the dogs themselves. Because of this, they have a partner called TerraCycle, and they work together to create eco-friendly packages for the dog food they send out.

The packages are made from materials that can be recycled, and each package comes with a biodegradable scooper that’s not only made from 100% bamboo but is also dishwasher safe.

A Quick Look at Tailored Dog Food

Pros
  • Individualized plans
  • Delivers right to your door
  • Uses real meat, poultry, or fish as the first ingredient
  • Uses fresh, farm-grown veggies and fruits
Cons
  • You can’t view the recipes online before ordering
  • Some ingredients are sourced outside of the United States

Recall History

Product recalls are a massive concern for dog parents, and it seems that you see one in the news at least every other day. While the brand hasn’t been in business for long, we couldn’t find any product recalls in the limited history of the company.

What Other Users Are Saying

Feedback from dog parents is positive for Tailored Pet’s food brand. More than 95% of customers reported that the brand has helped with their pet’s digestive issues and weight. While a few customers reported their dogs didn’t like the food, most agree that it’s a good brand and that they will feed it to their pets again.

Conclusion

While many of the ingredients are sourced outside of the United States, there is plenty to love about Tailored Dog Food. User reviews are positive, and most dogs seem to love the food, which keeps pet parents returning for more. Also, the company has never had to issue a recall for its products.
